Synchronize your Android or iOS apps with the Web Cloud Edition or with the Windows Edition.
Pull down all your projects, clients, and categories. And then send your time and expenses back up!
Synchronizing your Android and iOS timesheet data with the cloud means you can share that data with the organization. Time and expenses can be used for billing clients, paying employees, and project tracking. So in effect, entering time and expense records on the apps is essentially the same as entering them on the Windows or Web apps. All the data eventually makes it's way to the shared database where it can be reported, billed, and analyzed. The Android and iOS apps just make it more convenient when out of the office.
What is the cloud?
The cloud is really just the Web Edition of Standard Time®. But the apps also sync with the Windows Edition. You may have the web app installed on your own servers, or you may have us host it for you. In either case, it must be accessible outside the firewall so the Android and iOS Editions can access it with web services. Web services is nothing more than HTTP, just like how a browser accesses the web app. The Windows Edition also serves up Web Services, so the synchronization is identical.
When actually synchronizing, the apps will show the status as they go through each step. You can see that all your time logs, expenses, projects, clients, categories, and other items synchronized with the cloud or desktop. In other words, your time and expense records are sent to the main database, and then any changes will be brought down to the device. Your data will all be available when this finishes.
What if I don't have a web app?
If you don't have the Web Edition installed, you can still sync with the desktop version. It's virtually the same. On the Windows Edition, choose Tools, Options, Sync. Check the 'Sync' option and make sure the Sync Server is running. Make note of the username and web URL. You'll need these for the app.
Enter your username, password, and web url into the app and tap the Home button. Then press Sync.
