Have you created a custom report? Use these steps to share the report to all users, or just administrators. Scroll down for more.
You can create custom reports that print any timesheet, or expense, or project data. Those guts of reports are simple XML files that contain all the design and configuration information for the report but none of the data. The data is drawn from the database at the time you run the report. So each time you click on a report, you may get different results based on the state of the database at the time. Those custom reports can be posted on a file server and published to your team. This video shows how.
Hidden behind the stock timesheet reports is a powerful report writer that includes database fields, variables, scripts, graphics, charts, grids, grouping, filtering, sorting, and more. All this is available to you at no extra cost. You can modify any stock report and save it as a custom report. Or, you can create a brand new report from scratch. Normally people find it easier to customize existing reports because they usually contain the basics of what they are looking for. Sometimes a simple tweak or two is all that's needed.
Once you have customized your report, you can post it in a file server folder for access by your team. Just make sure every team member has "read access" to that folder because the program will try to read the report when a person clicks on it.
You can also publish an entire folder of reports, almost in the same way you publish single files. The advantage is that you can do this one and then simply place new reports in the folder whenever you create them. They will automatically show up on everyone's desktop when they log into the program.
Scoutwest Custom Reporting Service As a service to our customers, we also create custom reports. There is a flat fee, which you can pay for with a credit card.
