Troubleshooting IIS and SQL with Web Timesheet

 

 

Can’t get ST Web Edition running? Things to check:

  • Is the ‘Default website’ running in IIS?
  • Can you browse to the Default website?
  • Are these things installed in Control Panel, Turn Windows features on and off?
    • ASP.NET
    • ISAPI Extensions
    • ISAPI Filters
    • Default document
    • Static content
  • Is ASP.NET allowed in ‘ISAPI and CGI Restrictions’?
  • Is there an ASP.NET application pool?
  • Is it enabled?
  • Did you try using a ‘Classic’ app pool?
  • Did you open port 80 on your Windows firewall?
  • Have you edited your Web.config file?
  • Did you change ‘localhost’ to the name of your SQL Server box?
  • Did you name the database correctly?
  • Is the SQL Server login name correct?
  • Do you have SQL Server and Windows Authentication enabled in SQL?
  • Does your SQL Server login have db_owner rights?
  • Is SQL on a different box than IIS? If so, did you enable Remote Connections in SQL?
